Clarity for
complex decisions.

We help government and industry define the right problem, test the evidence and move consequential decisions forward.

Independent thinking across strategy, infrastructure, governance and digital.

Strategic planning experts

Canberra · Australia-wide

We take time to understand and solve the right problems.

Complex projects often gather momentum before the underlying need has been properly tested. This often creates expensive answers to the wrong questions.

Power Initiatives was established to bring disciplined thinking to those early, consequential decisions. We are a team of solution specialists who interrogate needs, reduce complexity and craft strategic answers that can be taken forward with clear intent.

Expertise for decisions that carry weight.

Our work integrates strategic, technical, commercial and operational perspectives. Open a capability to see where we focus.

01 Strategic analysis

We analyse current environments, model future demands and evaluate options to inform long-term planning and investment decisions. By examining the relationships between policy, capabilities, resources and risks, we develop strategies that respond to changing circumstances and underpin sustainable advantage and resilience.

  • Policy development
  • Investment logic mapping
  • Enterprise architecture
  • Strategic asset and risk management
02 Public infrastructure planning

We support major infrastructure projects through early planning stages. We bring together strategic, technical, operational and commercial considerations to define requirements, develop and cost viable options, and assess their suitability to inform government decisions.

  • Facility scoping and requirements
  • Feasibility studies and business cases
  • Commercial and procurement advisory
  • Program, risk and stakeholder management
  • Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
03 Governance, quality & risk

We establish and improve the systems through which decisions are made, responsibilities are assigned and performance is managed. Our approach focuses on practical governance, clear accountability and considered controls that manage risk, maintain quality and support effective operations.

  • Governance frameworks
  • Business management systems
  • Business continuity and compliance
  • Policy, process and change management
04 Commercial & transaction advice

We provide independent commercial advice and practical support throughout procurement, contracting and project delivery. We help navigate competing interests, manage commercial and contractual risks, and resolve issues to keep projects progressing with clear responsibilities and appropriate controls.

  • Procurement advice and support
  • Contract advice and negotiations
  • Program and project management
  • Dispute advice
05 Digital advisory

We improve how information and technology are managed and used to support operations and decision-making. Our work combines digital asset management and governance with the development of tailored digital tools, data analysis, and simulation to address complex operational challenges and inform strategic decisions.

  • Digital asset and information management
  • Digital governance, policy and strategy
  • Data analysis and visualisation
  • Simulation and scenario modelling
  • Digital tool development

Rigour without theatre.

Our method is direct: understand what matters, test what is assumed and make the answer useful.

  1. 01

    Understand the problem.
    Don’t hide behind process.

  2. 02

    Distil the complicated.
    Forge complexity into clarity.

  3. 03

    Challenge accepted truths.
    Pursue uncharted thinking.

  4. 04

    Ground big ideas in reality.
    Validate them with data.

  5. 05

    Be clear and precise.
    A picture often helps.

  6. 06

    Integrity is non-negotiable.
    Quality is not an accident.

A record measured in outcomes.

Our work has informed policy, shaped nationally significant programs, supported major investment decisions and improved the systems organisations rely on.
